Szechuan and Cantonese favourites at Clarke Quay

Singapore, May 2008 - Located at Singapore s premier shopping, dining and entertainment village, Clarke Quay, Peony-Jade offers Szechuan and Cantonese cuisine in an elegant and contemporary setting.

Opened in September 2004, the restaurant has since established itself as a top dining choice and popular venue for stylish weddings.

Its second outlet at Keppel Club opened in September 2008 and also serves the best of Szechuan and Cantonese cuisine, In addition, the latest outlet, unlike the first, offers dim sum in push carts.

At Peony-Jade, you will be spoilt for choice with its extensive menu offering predominantly traditional Szechuan cuisine, complemented by a selection of Cantonese favourites.

Szechuan cuisine is probably best known for its robust and spicy flavours, and at Peony-Jade, only the freshest ingredients are used to highlight the natural goodness and flavours of the dishes.

For starters, diners can indulge in the Traditional roast Peking duck with spring onion and crepe folds (S$32 for half bird,S$58 for whole bird) or the Szechuan smoked duck with camphor wood & fragrant tea leaves, served with steamed Chinese flower buns (S$32 for half bird, S$58 for whole bird).

This signature dish involves the meticulous preparation of first marinating the duck for 12 hours, and then drying for four hours before being smoked over a blend of camphor wood, rice, tea leaves and seasonings.

The result is a delicate smoky flavour and moist tender meat. Other highly recommended Szechuan favourites include Peony-Jade Szechuan hot & sour soup (S$8; S$32, standard; S$60, large) served in a stylish Martini glass, Crispy soft shell crab (S$20, standard; S$40, large) and Crispy roast chicken with hot sesame sauce (S$28 for half bird, S$56 for whole bird).

Seafood lovers will be delighted with the Steamed cod fish topped with crispy soya bean crumbs (S$14 per person) or the equally tempting Tenderly baked cod fish with fresh mango sauce (S$14 per person).

Private Events and Weddings
With its riverfront views and pillar-free elegant premises, Peony-Jade makes for a classy and unique venue for weddings, corporate and private functions throughout the year. Apart from the two private rooms, the restaurant can be partitioned for more intimate functions. Complete with a stage, great for the champagne and cake-cutting ceremony at weddings, its pillar-less space makes the stage visible from every angle of the guests' view. Peony-Jade also offers attractive wedding packages, starting from S$488++ per table (lunch).
